To speak of a great year might sound a bit out of place these days. Omnipresent, Corona has found a permanent place in all of our lives. Too much suffering and despair has accompanied people again in 2021. We are therefore even more grateful that we can look back on a successful and insightful year, despite all the adversities.

As a communications agency that understands science communication, we can count the Foundation of the University of Lucerne among our new clients this year. In addition to a new website and the creation of various fact sheets, we supported the foundation in promoting the big kick-off event of the Presidential Lecture series, opened by Richard David Precht (philosopher, publicist, and author).

The Excellence Foundation Zurich, our customer from the very beginning, has brought us on board this year for its activities around its 10th anniversary. The two largest projects in connection with the anniversary were the design and implementation of the foundation’s brochure, as well as the communication around the exclusive and top-class anniversary event with Nobel laureate Michael Kremer at the Aura in Zurich.

And since we enjoy celebrations quite a lot, we will also accompany the UBS Center for Economics in Society on their 10th anniversary in 2022. The list of planned activities is long, and we are already in the middle of preparations.

Another complex project in 2021 was the harmonization of the four research center websites of the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich. We were able to implement three center websites this year. Number four will follow shortly.
1. Center for Child Well-being and Development (CCWD)
2. Kühne Center for Sustainable Trade and Logistics (Kühne Center)
3. Zurich Center for Economic Development (ZCED)

Science communication continues to be our daily bread. We were again able to design and implement various publications and thus make the findings from research accessible to a broad audience.

Learnings

The particular challenge of the past year was to adapt our projects to the constantly changing regulations due to the Corona pandemic. In particular, our clients’ events were affected. We had to learn to be even more flexible and always have a plan B ready. Our clients made a virtue out of necessity and even hosted and promoted large events with up to 500 participants both physically and online – a broadening of horizons for us.

Always qualified

There was a big personal highlight to report. Our youngest team member Noelia has successfully completed her Bachelor of Science in Games Programming. We are very proud of her. Whether and what games programming has to do with communication is explained in Noelia’s blog post.

An exciting year is coming to an end and we are looking forward to a quiet break with our families. We are grateful for the trust our customers have placed in us and the great cooperation with our partners and service providers in these complicated times. Everyone has given their best.

Let us hope that we can get back to normal in 2022. We wish everyone a peaceful holiday season and a healthy and happy new year.
